Building Traditions was hired to repair our basement wall on our house on Airport Road, Ramara Township, RR#6, Orillia, Ontario. Our basement structure was made with cinder blocks and due to water leaking through our existing eavestrough, a portion of the front wall had caved in to the point that the soil was coming into the basement through the hole in the wall. The water had also eroded the earth under the floor causing the house to be uneven and creating cracking in the rest of the house.

We had a few contractors in to look at our situation but they were not willing to take on this project. Brian Miscio of Building Traditions came in to look at our renovation and right from the onset he showed an interest and didn’t seem to have any problem taking on this project. Brian wasn’t very long and sent us a quote along with his ideas to correct our problem with the wall. We met a few times and had numerous conversations prior to the work starting. It took a bit longer than originally expected but with a job of this type you don’t know what you are going to run into until you start digging. Again, anything Brian found he would immediately keep us informed and give us his recommendations and suggestions on how to rectify the issue.

Since, Brian was already on site we had him also do a few other repairs which required attention,( a new roof, new seamless eavestrough and downspouts, removal and installation of new blown in insulation in the attic, new basement windows and capping on the 54’ wall he was repairing, completely insulating the basement walls as well as putting down a sub floor throughout the basement area. We found Building Traditions and his tradesman to be efficient, knowledgeable and professional at all times. Not once did we feel pressured to make any decisions, everything was thoroughly explained and we could think about items prior to making any decisions. I would not hesitate to use Building Traditions again should the need arise and would most certainly recommend them to anyone.
